On December 12, 2023, the City Council established the Caddo Mills Charter Commission and charged the Commission with drafting a proposed Home Rule Charter to be presented to the voters for approval. The Commission met regularly for several months and produced a draft Charter, which was approved by Council to put before the voters at the November 5, 2024 Election. The purpose of the election is for the citizens of Caddo Mills to decide if the City should become a Home Rule municipality. You can learn more about Home Rule Cities by clicking on the links below.
The proposed Charter is being mailed to everyone who is registered to vote in the City of Caddo Mills. Voters are asked to read it over and let us know if they have questions. To vote in this election, you must be registered by October 7. Visit votetexas.gov to register or check your status.
